Mario Lopez’s Restaurant Now Open In Miami

Cool it preppy, the Mario’s Tortas Lopez  virtual restaurant is now available in Miami. (I couldn’t make it past the first sentence without an A.C. Slater reference). It’s a delivery only, virtual restaurant that serves dishes inspired by Mario Lopez. Sometimes known as a “Ghost Kitchen“, it’s a restaurant that operates inside an already existing restaurant.

According to Local 10 ,the restaurant includes “tortas” and bowls reflecting authentic flavors Lopez has enjoyed since childhood. For those unfamiliar, a ‘torta’ is essentially a Mexican sandwich. A torta is made either with french bread or bolillo or telera bread. Much better than white bread at holding salsa. The menu includes six tortas, Beef Barbacoa, The Chorizo & Egg, A Grilled Chicken, Pork Carnitas (yes please), Chile Relleno, and a vegan option, The Vegan Chorizo. For sides, you can get nachos, chile rellenos, some chips and guac, black beans, elote, or if you’re looking for something sweet – cinnamon sugar-dusted churro doughnuts served with dulce de leche.

Does Mario’s restaurant deliver to you? Are you in the Miami area? Check Grubhub to see. Through this month you get free delivery with a $15 or more order.  This sounds (and looks) absolutely delicious. If this does well in Miami there’s always a chance we could get a taste of Mario right here in Southwest Florida.

And since we’re already here, how about we just enjoy some pics?
