Miami Beach Spring Break Arrests Top 1,000, Officials Say
Spring Breakers have flocked to Miami Beach and the city is struggling to maintain control. According to Local 10 Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber is quoted “At night there is no question that it became a little out of control or a lot out of control”.
The mayor placed an 8 pm curfew on the entertainment district this weekend, which, of course, was completely ignored by many of the spring breakers. On Saturday night after many attempts to disperse the crowd, police fired pepper balls into the crowd in an attempt to disperse.
The news is showing the police action, here are some videos you may not have seen:
And here's the aftermath. Everyone walked out on their tabs totaling over $2,000 before tips . Remember this happened TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW. But there's more.... pic.twitter.com/g96Wfo3VQp

The fights are constant. Every day and night. At least 2 or 3 involve shootings. Mind you this is a 10 block by 3 block area. It's not that big. But wait....:there's more!! pic.twitter.com/ad2KQ8nmeK

Here’s the Local 10 story:
As you can see the streets are full of trash, which for spring break is actually pretty normal. My biggest problem, and I hear it happens a lot, is the people skipping out on restaurant tabs. Any restaurant that is still open after a year of COVID and especially their employees, need all the help they can get. I feel for them.
I’m expecting Miami Beach to come up with creative restrictions to try to maintain the crowds that will probably carry over into next year as well.
