In the Celebrity Dirt, we’ve talked about how a lot of celebs have come under fire for flying in private jets on short trips and I have a list of the 10 worst celebrity private jet polluters.
I love the idea of flying private, so I understand why celebrities do it. No TSA, no waiting for hours and sitting in uncomfortable chairs for your flight to take off, no kids constantly screaming or kicking your seat back, lounging in luxury..I get it. In fact, I have to admit I’m tad jealous. But while owning your own private jet might be something you could only dream of buying if you won the lottery, it does come with a downfall, and that’s the impact they have on the environment.
Transportenvironment.org says that private jets put 5 to 14 times more pollution into the air than commercial planes per passenger, and 50 times more than trains.
And while we may not know about every flight that takes off, there is a twitter account @celebjets that tracks plenty of them, so we have a good idea on who’s planes are the worst.

Taylor Swift Responds To Worst Carbon Emission Claims Due To Her Jet
Taylor Swift’s team has responded to backlash over a report that her private jet has racked up a whopping 170 flights this year, making her the celebrity with the most private jet CO2 emissions.
“Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals,” Swift’s spokesperson told Rolling Stone. “To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.”
The report came from the digital marketing agency Yard, which examined the worst celebrity offenders when it comes to CO2 emissions from private jets, according to data from Twitter page @CelebJets that tracks the flights.
According to Yard, Swift tops the list, coming in above Jay-Z, Steven Spielberg, Drake and Kim Kardashian. “Her total flight emissions for the year come in at 8,293.54 tonnes, or 1,184.8 times more than the average person’s total annual emissions,” Yard said. According to the report, Swift’s shortest flight in 2022 was a 36-minute trip from Missouri to Nashville, and Yard noted the total was especially surprising given Swift isn’t on tour right now.
Swift faced significant backlash over the report. See what fans said below:
