Milk Shake Up: Miami Dairy Delivery Drivers Steal Over $1 Million Worth of Milk
A group of dairy delivery drivers in Miami have been caught red-handed in an elaborate milk theft ring. According to WTVJ, the six suspects, all worked at Island Dairy, were allegedly responsible for over $1 million worth of stolen milk and dairy products.
Dubbed “Operation Got Milk” by the Miami-Dade police department, the suspects are accused of systematically pilfering hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of milk and crates since 2021. And how did they manage to pull off such a heist? By manipulating the ordering system, of course!
According to an arrest report, the suspects would load up their delivery trucks with extra dairy products and then deviate from their pre-assigned routes to meet with another individual. From there, the stolen goods would be transferred to their own trucks and sold for a tidy profit.
Miami Dairy Drama:
One suspect even sold each stolen carton of milk for $10. Surprisingly, stealing dairy products can be such a lucrative business! Move over, Ocean’s Eleven, we’ve got a new crew in town!
Miami-Dade Police described the operation as “organized crime.” Therefore, kudos to them for cleaning up some spoiled Milk Bandits guys! It was indeed a job well done! Moreover, Island Dairy deserves recognition for conducting an investigation that uncovered the irregularities that led to the suspects’ arrest.
Regarding the suspects themselves, Yohanny Padron, Jose Fallayera, Eduardo Alvarez, Osleivy Rodriguez, Ihosvany Lopez, and Maikel Rodriguez face a laundry list of charges, including grand theft. Despite the hefty charges, the suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
So, what’s the lesson here, folks? If you’re going to steal, maybe don’t steal milk. Alternatively, just don’t steal at all. Either way, crime doesn’t pay, and it’s not worth the risk.
