Katy Perry Drops New Breakup Anthem ‘Never Really Over’
Katy Perry dropped her first new music since 2017 and it’s already getting rave reviews.
Her new single and video, “Never Really Over,” was released Friday. The song was co-produced by Zedd and Dreamlab.
“I’m losing my self-control/ Yeah, you start and I trickle back in/ But I don’t wanna fall down the rabbit hole/ Cross my heart, I won’t do it again,” the lyrics read.
“All of our relationships — from first love, through failed love, to great love — all become a part of you,” the American Idol judge said in a statement about the song, obtained by the Hollywood Reporter. “So that none are ever really over, and once you accept both the dark and the light, you may find that the darkness brought you to the light.”
