Convicted Child Molester Being Released, Deemed No Long A Threat Due To His Sex Change
This is happening in Iowa, officials will be releasing a convicted child molester after he underwent a sex change. He was in jail for molesting up to 15 kids ranging in age from 1 to 13.
Jospeph Matthew Smith was receiving treatment for gender transitioning for the past two years at Newton Correctional Facility. Smith had expressed a desire to “get started on transgender classification” in October 2017 and at that point began using female pronouns. “Jospeh” now goes by “Josie.”
Because of a reduction in testosterone levels due to the transition from man to woman the state says that puts Josie at a lower risk of re-offending.
Josie will need to register as a sex offender and be subject to supervision for the rest of her life.
