Live Action “Powerpuff Girls” Series In Development
They coming after my childhood. A live action version of “Powerpuff Girls” could soon be coming to the CW network.
The series, which is still in development, would center around the girls who are now in their 20s. They’ve gone in different directions after spending their childhoods fighting crime. There would be some reason in the new show that would force them to reunite to fight crime once again. It would certainly be interesting to see how the show would deal with the girls’ superpowers in a live action show.
If you’re not familiar with the series, the Powerpuff Girls, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, were created by Professor Utonium using something called Chemical X. The show ran for 6 seasons from 1998-2005 and then was rebooted in 2016 for The Cartoon Network. There was also a movie in 2002.
The CW has had success with live-action versions of cartoons with Riverdale, based on Archie, now having completed 4 seasons. Season 5 is scheduled to air in January of 2021.
The live action “Powerpuff Girls” series is still being created, no word on when it could be airing. We’ll be waiting.
