Texas officials are finding people dead from hypothermia in their homes
As Texas finally begins to thaw, authorities are making some gruesome discoveries. People who died from hypothermia in their homes after the electricity was cut. Sheriff’s are reporting the discoveries after making checks on residents who were affected during the power outage.
According to Local 10 around 70 people perished during the winter storm and more then 12 of those deaths can be attributed to people freezing to death in their own homes. Fort Worth ambulance MedStar reported 77 hypothermia calls on Wednesday, with some individuals so cold that their bodies were shivering uncontrollably and they were barely conscious. Some has even reached a point where they were no longer shivering, which is one of the final stages.
Temperatures this weekend are beginning to warm but Saturday morning Dallas still saw a low in the 20’s.
