You gotta be careful if you go swimming in the Sanibel area. Because some stingrays were spotted near the Sanibel beaches.
According to NBC 2, dozens of stingrays were seen swimming near the beaches of Sanibel over the weekend. They were spotted at the Lighthouse Beach Park. Stingrays can usually be seen n SWFL from May – October. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has some advice for you if you do see a Stingray. They recommend you do the Stingray Shuffle. That’s when you shuffle your feet in the sand and those vibrations will allow the stingray to get away without injury to them or you.
Stay safe while swimming in theses SWFL waters! And I love the advice on the Stingray Shuffle. I will have to try that next time I hit the beaches!
